Murrells Inlet Marshwalk
The MarshWalk, located in the heart of the historic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, SC is a ½ mile wooden boardwalk along a natural saltwater estuary. Brookgreen Gardens
Brookgreen Gardens is a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve, located just south of Murrells Inlet. This must see destination includes several themed gardens featuring American figurative sculptures, the Lowcountry Zoo, and trails through several ecosystems in nature reserves.
Atalaya Castle
Atalaya Castle, often known simply as Atalaya, was the winter home of industrialist and philanthropist Archer M. Huntington and his wife, the sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington, located in Huntington Beach State Park near the Atlantic coast in Murrells Inlet, SC.
Hobcaw Barony
Hobcaw Barony is a 16,000-acre preserved tract on the Waccamaw Neck between Winyah Bay and the Atlantic Ocean just north of historic Georgetown County, South Carolina. Bus tours of the property are available and offers fascinating history into the Baruch family and their ties to 20th-century politicians like FDR and England's Winston Churchill.

Hopsewee Plantation
Located just south of historic Georgetown, Hopsewee Plantation, built circa 1740, was the birthplace of Thomas Lynch Jr., one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. This National Historic Landmark is now open for tours and special events and includes a museum an the River Oaks Tearoom.
Black River Cypress Preserve
The Black River Cypress Preserve (BRCP) was created to inspire, activate, and educate citizens about the extraordinary blackwater swamps and native pinelands of the South Carolina Coastal Plain.
Historic Georgetown
Georgetown is the third oldest city in South Carolina and has been named America's Best Coastal Small Town (USA Today, 2018). The historic district boasts five museums and 69 properties on the National Historic Register (more than Charleston!). Brochures featuring self-guided walking tours of the district are available at the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center at 531 Front St. (Tours are also available on a free app titled Hammock Coast® and available at the app store of your choice.)
South Carolina Maritime Museum
This museum celebrates the maritime history of South Carolina and Georgetown, the state’s second largest port. In 2011, the South Carolina Maritime Museum opened on the waterfront in historic Georgetown. Home to the prized Fresnel lens of the old North Island lighthouse, the museum's mission is to create enjoyable experiences for both young people and adults by featuring exhibits, programs and events related to South Carolina’s rich and remarkable maritime history.
